Course Description

The Biomedical Engineering Technology (Co-op) program prepares you to combine engineering with medicine to play a part in transforming lives, with the added bonus of work experience prior to graduation. In this School of Engineering Technology and Applied Science program, you gain an optimal balance between theory and hands-on labs. Biomedical Engineering Technology courses integrate various biomedical engineering principles, including electronics, micro-controllers, computers, chemistry, biology, medicine, health and engineering in the design of medical equipment, rehabilitation and health improvement devices — all while teaching technical problem-solving skills. The program, as it prepares you for a challenging career with the latest technology, will continue to evolve to reflect the ever-growing innovations. In addition to covering all of these topics and the newest industry developments, you benefit from a co-op option that enhances your education with three terms as a paid employee in the field.
