Centennial College's Mechanical Engineering Technology – Industrial (Co-op) program is focused on teaching you engineering theory and practice in the manufacturing and production of mechanical equipment. This result is the inclusion of basic engineering and science topics, as well as more specialized subjects relating to modern manufacturing and production processes. The training in this advanced diploma engineering program also includes computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) through AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks and Simul8, which are used widely in the industry today. Practical experience in this college engineering program is gained through two-semester individual projects, MT-258 and MT-324, which require you to design, build and test an original piece of equipment. The project approach simulates actual workplace assignments. Real world experience, meanwhile, occurs through co-op placements in the industry that also allow you to connect with professionals whom you may be able to add to your professional network.
