In this program students will learn how to provide creative and technical solutions for complex residential, commercial and institutional design environments including facilities for people with disabilities, the aged, and adaptive re-use projects. It will provide students with an awareness of interior space planning and an in-depth understanding of the design process, supported by theoretical knowledge of construction and human factors. Students will study different techniques of design communication and the use of computer-aided design and documentation, and develop an appreciation of design culture through historical and theoretical perspectives. Students will also explore the changing nature of design trends, including the preference for eco-friendly materials and the significance of sustainability.
