Master of Business Administration Advanced - MBA

Course Description

The Master of Business Administration (MBA) is designed for experienced professionals with ambition and drive who wish to develop their strategic managerial and leadership skills, gaining the holistic business point-of-view required to operate effectively in an increasingly competitive and evolving global business environment. The course gives you the confidence to address the business challenges by critically analysing business situations and applying relevant management techniques to make well-reasoned, responsible, and evidence-based business decisions. The MBA Advanced offers students the opportunity to specialise further in their area of interest by completing four additional subjects from a specialisation of their choice. Specialisations are available in Logistics, Project Management, Finance, Accounting, Human Resource Management or Marketing. Your learning approach will include: real-world case studies; experiential learning including planning and executing an integrated and live business project towards the end of the course; and teamwork, with an emphasis on peer learning. If you are interested in studying Business but do not have the specified work experience for the MBA, consider studying the Master of Business. We value the importance of prior learning and work experience in this course and understand that not all mature age working professionals have completed an undergraduate degree. If you fit this profile, still apply for the course, and we will assess your other relevant tertiary qualifications or substantial relevant professional or managerial experience. Why study this course? Our courses are: continually developed, informed by research, structured on applied outcomes, recognised by industry, delivered by highly qualified academics and supported through additional specialised student learning and development resources. You can study the course from our Wollongong or Sydney CBD campus. All specialisations are offered at the Wollongong campus. Accounting, Finance, Logistics and Project Management are also offered at the Sydney campus. We offer three intakes per year, and many courses are formatted and scheduled to fit in with your professional commitments. Some classes are offered on a weekly basis, mostly in the evening, while others run in intensive mode over the weekend to minimise time away from other responsibilities. Our dedicated student support services are built around individual students’ needs. Our student advisors, academic staff and careers consultant are available each week for consultation. Study skills workshops are also run weekly to ensure your success. We provide a number of social and semi-formal events that give you the opportunity to network with your peers, members of the local business community and alumni. Students have the opportunity to participate in a study abroad tour as their elective subject. International Students can choose to take up the option of selecting the elective subject, Global Workplace Practice, which includes practical job seeking activities and access to the Australian workforce either through an internship, industry-based project or part-time employment.
