Course Description

Studying Arts and Humanities at UOW allows you to tailor a degree specifically to your interests. Our flexible options let you choose the direction your program takes, such as specialising in a political,historical, international or creative discipline. Employers are looking for graduates who are flexible and analytical, with adaptable skills that can be applied in a multitude of ways. They want people who can think critically and creatively, who can reason and who have informed opinions. That is the foundation of the Bachelor of Arts degree at UOW. The degree is made up of subjects with origins in the humanities: history, literature, languages and philosophy–and the disciplines of social sciences: culturalstudies, sociology and politics. There is also the ability to take this degree in a creative direction, such as creative writing and photography. You must select one major and one minor, or a second major, from the Faculty of Law, Humanities and the Arts.
