Biochemistry & Molecular Biology

Course Description

The program in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology is designed to prepare students for careers in biochemistry and molecular biology, in the related fields of cell biology, microbiology, molecular genetics or in the health sciences. As part of their training, students in the program complete four to six credits of research with a biology or chemistry faculty member. Students who satisfactorily complete the required courses receive a bachelor of science degree with two majors, one in biology and one in chemistry.

Students graduating from the University of Redlands with a Bachelor of Science in chemistry and in biology earned through the program in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology will: 1. Fulfill the learning outcomes expected of Biology majors. 2. Fulfill the learning outcomes expected of Chemistry majors. 3. Integrate knowledge and skills from both disciplines to address a research question at the intersection of biology and chemistry.
