Banking and Finance MSc

Course Description

This progressive MSc is designed to orientate your earlier qualification towards a career in banking and finance. Developments in banking and finance are happening rapidly, and with growing complexity. People working in this area must be able to understand and analyse activity, and also be able to anticipate future developments. This includes knowledge of financial systems and markets as well as the role played by both commercial and central banks within the economy. Designed for UK and international students alike, this master's degree at the University of Dundee examines different international banking systems and regulations which have become increasingly important in recent years. The course is a fit for students from a variety of backgrounds, and does not require any previous training in finance. If you are interested in central investment and retail banking or the broader financial sector, this is an excellent postgraduate path whatever your previous degree. You’ll be meeting leading practitioners through the university’s Distinguished Visitor and Enterprise Gym Lecture Series and hearing from them, first hand, about critical aspects of real-time banking and finance. This conversion degree includes off-campus learning events embedded in a number of its modules and an 'urban experience' element demonstrating the fundamental importance of team-building within a business context. We welcome students from the UK and elsewhere to our stimulating, supportive, friendly and well-organised campus. Dundee is among the fastest risers in the 2017 Guardian University Rankings and has also been rated the best in Scotland by some of the most influential higher education surveys.
