Accounting and Finance MRes

Course Description

Most people probably think that research in accounting and finance is "all about numbers", but that really couldn't be further from the truth! Indeed, there is much more to accounting and finance research. This course allows students the opportunity to study the advanced aspects of accounting or finance with staff that have a sound knowledge of the technical aspects of their subjects. Why study this course at Dundee? We would be delighted to hear from potential new collaborators in research. All of our academic staff engage in high-quality research that is disseminated through various channels, and which has a significant influence on what, and how, we then teach our students Several of our staff have written critically about the role of accounting and finance practices from the perspective of ethics and global sustainability. Others have explored how accounting is intertwined with political and cultural tensions as organisations attempt to implement new business structures and practices. Others have explored which elements of Western markets might (not) be suitable for adoption and promotion in developing and emerging economies.
