Course Description

Agricultural production uses natural resources in diverse and complex ways. The appropriate use and sustainable management of such resources for agricultural development are key to food security, poverty alleviation and environmental quality in most (sub)tropical countries. Natural resources comprise atmosphere, soil, water, plants, animals, genes and ecosystems. These resources show complex interactions and are sensitive to human activities and agricultural interventions. Their appropriate management requires skilled individuals with both the biophysical and the socio-economic background knowledge.
