Course Details

Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art

Course Description

All Art majors begin in the B.A. degree program but should immediately follow the 4 year sequencing of classes listed in the BFA concentration calendars found in the links above. Those interested in pursuing the BFA program, or in taking upper level classes, must take ARTA 3201 BFA Portfolio Review during the semester indicated on the calendars. While enrolled in ARTA 3201 BFA Portfolio Review, students will compile and submit another digital portfolio of creative and written work that will be due in middle of the semester. The BFA portfolio will consist of work from the pre-requisite courses previously taken (listed above) and should show particular focus/skills in the intended area of concentration. A committee of faculty members in the intended concentration will review the portfolios. Those students accepted will change their degree program to reflect the BFA in Art in the specific concentration and will be able to enroll in upper level BFA course requirements. Students who do not pass the BFA Portfolio review will maintain BA in Art degree status and will have one year to resubmit if they so choose.
