Career outcomes

Our graduate career success is extremely high and it’s a subject the course team are very proud of. Our graduates are working globally in many studios and we have high retention rates with students often being ‘snapped up’ pre graduation. Over 90% of our graduates from 2012 now work in animation or a related role. This number has increased over five per cent since 2010. Our students work in 2D traditional animation, 3D computer animation, stop motion puppet animation, games art direction and many other areas of animation and film. The recognition the course receives for the quality of the students and for the professional studio model environment that we create has meant that the industry approaches us when recruiting for their latest projects. The course team actively networks and engages professionally within all areas of the industry and this collaborative partnership means that students are fully prepared for employment. Graduates have been involved with many high profile productions, including Tim Burton’s The Corpse Bride. Blue Sky Productions, New York, employed graduate Tori Davis for her skill in Background Art and Design. Cosgrove Hall has employed Richard Haynes director of the film The Typewriter. Students have also gone on to work with Walt Disney Productions and major video games companies such as Electronic Arts and animation companies such as Aardman Animations. Director Sylvain Chomet has recruited many of our graduates for his latest feature The Illusionist. Graduate, Guillermo Garcia, after working for Cartoon Network, established Zinkia Entertainment, Spain, to make the award winning children’s series Pocoyo, in association with Granada Television.
