Course Description

Our department prepares students for employment in the rapidly expanding field of Computer and Information Sciences. We offer the basic skills required to function effectively in the various occupations and professions that use computers on a daily basis or that depend upon custom computer programming. Our courses focus on the use of computers in the workplace and relate the general study of the computer itself to the study of specific computer languages, enabling the student to combine computer hardware and software to process data and to organize, store and retrieve information used in business and industry. Upon completion of this curriculum, the student should have the capability to apply computer technology to diverse business and professional environments. This will enable the student to enter the workforce as an entry-level programmer or to transfer to a 4-year educational institution for additional study.
