Course Description

The digital revolution is transforming how we communicate, how we express ourselves and how we form communities. This dynamic programme encompasses the twin challenges of learning to use media technologies creatively and learning to analyse the impact of new media on society and individuals. As a student, you will have an opportunity to explore what happens when technology and imagination meet. Kairos Communications, a leading independent television and radio production company, will deliver part of the course. You will gain practical experience in a professional studio environment, learning to design digital products and to master, cameras and sound recording equipment , digital image manipulation, web design and basic animation. You will also study the social, cultural and human implications of new media, and you have the added option to explore the underlying computer science. As the creation of digital media content is often collaborative, you will be encouraged to work on practical projects in groups, developing team-building and networking skills. You will develop your individual creativity, rooted in theoretical reflection and a solid skills base.
