The objective of the Finance Program at Minnesota State University, Mankato is to provide students with the financial skills and understanding necessary to secure entry-level positions in private industry and the public sector. The Department of Finance offers a major which requires the student to select an area of emphasis and specialize in one or more of the four following areas: Corporate Finance, Institutional Finance, Financial Planning and Insurance, General Finance, or Investment Analysis. The Department of Finance provides students opportunities to apply what they have learned through experiential learning like the Maverick Student Investment Fund.
