The Foundation Certificate is a one year, 2 Semesters, 6 modules programme designed to provide an access route to the BA(Hons) Programmes in the Faculties of Design, Fine Arts, Media Arts and Creative Industries at LASALLE. This intensive programme is intended to help students with GCE 'A' Level or equivalent qualifications to develop their core visual arts skills including Drawing, 2D, 3D and Image manipulation. Contemporary and Contextual studies and a conceptual thinking component are the key elements of this demanding and innovative programme. It is also specifically designed to help both young and mature students who need to understand the challenges and excitements of tertiary arts education before embarking on further undergraduate study. The programme curriculum includes a comprehensive grounding in the creative processes, technical and academic skills essential for students to acquire an informed understanding of their chosen specialist discipline. A personal and professional development component assists students with the nurturing of appropriate studentship skills.

Students who pass the Certificate will progress to their chosen and agreed specialist programme without further interview.
