BA (Hons) Economics and Politics

Course Description

The BA (Hons) in Economics and Politics is run jointly with the Department of Politics, Philosophy and Religion. Within the Economics component of this degree, students are given a thorough grounding in both macro and microeconomic theory and its relationship to the business world. They also examine aspects of economic history and assess contemporary issues and trends in developed and developing economies. The courses offered within the Politics element focus on the central questions of politics that have shaped the modern world, and encourage students to develop their ideas on themes such as war and peace, poverty and inequality, order and justice, and governance and power.
