B.A. Liberal Studies (Elementary Education Preparation)

Course Description

At Hope, the Liberal Studies program offers students intellectual and cultural breadth as a strong foundation for becoming effective classroom teachers in the elementary or special education setting. Opportunities are provided to strengthen essential leadership and communication skills needed in today’s education system. Throughout the program, students work to align newfound knowledge and skills with Christian faith so that they may actively portray Christ in the classroom. Students may choose to expand their career options by carefully selecting coursework within a particular subject area and applying for a Supplemental Authorization once the initial Multiple Subject Credential has been obtained. It is also possible for students to take select courses from the Credential program at the undergraduate level to shorten the time it takes to complete the Multiple Subject Credential. This program is perfectly suited for students who wish to pursue graduate studies, such as a Master of Education. The B.A. in Liberal Studies program is 126 units.
