This is a level 1 NVQ qualification in Beauty Therapy that is the starting point for beauty basics and customer service consisting of health and safety, working with others, customer care, preparation of work area, assisting with nail care, make-up and facial treatments. You will learn a mini manicure and a cleanse tone moisturise mini facial and make-up procedure. All units will be tested by assignment, written and oral questioning. You will be in college for 3 to 4 days per week and will join higher-level courses in the beauty salons as part of your practice and assessment process. Your course also contains related functional skills in Maths, ICTand english, . This is not an automatic progression to the next level; you will need to receive an outstanding report from your tutors and to achieve all the units set at the start of the course. All learners are expected to purchase the prescribed kit before the course commences and all practical sessions require a uniform and dress code to be adhered to. You will learn practical treatments on each other, practice on peers and visitors to the college. You will be expected to behave in a professional, courteous manner throughout your course. You will be required to build you own client bank and promote the beauty salons to friends and families.
