Duration: Four years Full-time; Five years Sandwich A range of design principles and delivery technologies underpins all digital media whether these are movies and music, print and broadcast, or commerce and interactive entertainment. The growth of digital media uses range from in-car to screen-less interaction, from urban social networks to mobile commerce in the developing world. This BSc(Hons) Digital Media course introduces you to the design contexts and development opportunities in use and on the horizon for digital media creation and delivery. You will learn the fundamentals of development - from programming, web technologies and design and visualisation techniques, to rich media creation, multi-platform deployment, physical-computing, testing and project management. You will develop a strong grounding in industry standard processes, technologies and their application. You will learn about the art and science of communication while developing an understanding of the ethical, commercial and legal environment in which the industry operates.

On graduation, career opportunities are available in organisations ranging from large corporations to smaller entrepreneurial start-ups. Working at all stages of the content creation process, you can choose to go into project management, client handling, creative software development or information architecture. Past students have gone into jobs including software engineering, 3D work, motion graphics, web development and client handling in digital agencies.
