Ba( Criminology and Law)

Course Description

If you would like to combine two subjects which have very strong interdisciplinary links then Law with Criminology will be a good choice for you. This award provides the opportunity to major in Law leading to the award of LLB (Hons) Law with Criminology, combine the two subjects equally leading to a BA (Hons) law and Criminology or major in Criminology leading to the BA (Hons) Criminology with Law. If you choose to major in Law then you will be able to graduate with a qualifying law degree (QLD). A QLD means that you will be able to proceed straight to the professional stage of training to become a Solicitor or a Barrister. If you are simply interested in studying two subjects where many socio legal issues overlap in a fascinating manner you may choose to study equal numbers of modules from criminology and law. The programme is set for the first year of study but you will determine your route through the degree when you make your module choice selections in the second semester of your first year. There is therefore the time and flexibility to design the course around your future ambitions.
