The postgraduate programmes in Equine Science consists of taught modules delivered via weekend study blocks. The programmes focus on the performance horse and consider how to maximise performance and career longevity, whilst optimising the horse's welfare. You are encouraged to apply the knowledge gained through study in this area to apply to an area of personal interest. In fact, you could simply study an area out of interest with no formal assessment. As a postgraduate student of Equine Science, you will have a personal academic tutor to support you in formulating a combination of modules and experiences each year to meet your individual goals and interests. Attendance at our study skills module weekends are also encouraged during the induction period. The friendly, supportive and personal atmosphere here at Hartpury combines with the flexible modular programme to offer a challenging but enjoyable form of postgraduate study.

Postgraduates may progress to a PhD or find employment in equine/animal science research, lecturing, consultancy or other science-based sectors of the expanding equine industry.
