If you enjoy being challenged, consider yourself an innovator, and are passionate about shaping the world around you, our newly updated Bachelor of Business and Bachelor of Science with Honours provides a gateway to an exciting world of rewarding careers. The Bachelor of Business is designed to produce graduates with well-developed business knowledge and a mix of skills and abilities that will enable you to adapt to change with future challenges, and to contribute to the economic and social wellbeing of your community. The University of Tasmania’s new science degree provides you with a foundation of core skills in science, analysis and rational thinking, and entrepreneurship. As a BBus/BSc graduate you will have the ability for evidence-based decision making – to clearly frame problems, to acquire and critically analyse knowledge of relevance to these problems, generate innovative evidence-based solutions that enhance the sustainability of business and society, and to effectively communicate their solutions to diverse audiences. Your decisions will be grounded in ethical business practice, and will be based on an awareness of different perspectives and world views. The Bachelor of Business and Bachelor of Science with Honours offers you a range of flexible study options, including full-time and part-time study, as well as delivery in on-campus, blended and off-campus modes. You have options to focus your study in one or more scientific and business disciplines, and learn the methods to apply your skills and knowledge to the practical needs of industry, business and government in both scientific and non-scientific roles. In choosing a Bachelor of Business and Bachelor of Science Honours you can: Build a degree that is tailored specifically to your own needs: select your majors and minor subjects from 17 different disciplinary areas in the BSc component and 7 disciplinary areas in the BBus component. Learn through hands-on practical experience including laboratory work, field trips, field-based units, work integrated learning and research projects. Enjoy being mentored by highly qualified staff, many of whom are national and world leaders in their field. From 2018 onwards, our new curriculum offers you more flexibility and choice in how your degree is structured, real-world learning embedded in every course, and a choice of two Honours pathways. In addition to traditional research honours, we now offer an integrated, work-focused Applied Honours year which is open to all students who successfully complete their bachelor degree.
