The Bachelor of Antarctic Science with Honours continues the general overview of Antarctic and Southern Ocean matters with specialist training in a research topic, generally within physical sciences, biological sciences, law, policy, international relations, environmental management, or polar technology. The degree satisfies the usual eligibility requirements for research higher degrees and postgraduate scholarships. The program can be taken in one year full-time or two years part-time study. Students can commence the program in either semester 1 or semester 2. This program is science-based and caters for students with a strong background in Antarctic science. The course provides specific training in a research topic selected in consultation with University supervisors. It will develop skills in oral and written communication, and in personal time management of both course work and a research project. Course structure For Full Time Students: Please enrol in Honours A (25%) and B (25%) in one semester and Honours C (25%) and D (25%) in the following semester.

The course leads to career opportunities in oceanography, glaciology, climate modelling, meteorology, ice core chemistry, marine biology, terrestrial ecology or social sciences such as policy, law, international relations or environmental management.
