The Bachelor of Musical Arts provides the opportunity for students to enhance their musical skills, awareness and knowledge and also, through parallel study, to explore the possibilities of another discipline. The degree is particularly well suited to students wishing to pursue careers in music technology, music journalism, music broadcasting, promotion and marketing or arts management. Students completing this course will be able to articulate into the Master of Teaching course, specialising in Secondary Music Teaching. Bachelor of Musical Arts students will complete a major in music, a minor in music and four discipline electives. The remaining units of their degree may be taken as a major from another discipline offered at UTAS, for example English, journalism, science, or a European language, or may comprise further study in music through a choice of music electives.
