Course Description

Course structure The combined degree requirements consist of 500 credit points comprising: Bachelor of Arts (200cp) The 16 units required for the BA component will comprise 1 Major, 1 Minor and Degree Core Knowledge units. The BA major and minor must be in two different study areas. You require: A Major (100cp) A Minor (50cp) Degree Core Knowledge (50cp) Advanced speakers of a language are permitted to replace the 2 Introductory language units with Intermediate and/or Advanced level language units as approved by Arts Student Central. These students may complete the degree with 2 Introductory units minimum. If progressing with the language as a major or a minor, the student must complete the sequence and overall degree credit point requirements with additional Intermediate or Advanced level language units. Advanced speakers cannot later enrol in the replaced Introductory language units. Students can contact Arts Student Central to discuss. Level requirements are as follows for the Bachelor of Arts component: 4 - 6 introductory level units 4 - 8 intermediate level units 4 - 8 advanced level units *Please note, minimum and maximum level requirements are linked to your major and minor combination. In some scenarios you will be required to exceed the minimum level requirements as above. Bachelor of Business (200cp) The Bachelor of Business is a highly sought-after degree. It’s designed to produce graduates with well-developed business knowledge and a mix of skills and abilities that are highly sought-after by employers. Embedded in the curriculum are principles of entrepreneurship, innovation, ethics and sustainability, which means that when you graduate you’ll be able to make an immediate contribution to work and society. Under the BBus component of the combined degree you will complete 8 Degree Core Knowledge units and will select your major from 7 different disciplinary areas.

Career outcomes

Graduates of the combined Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Business degree could expect to obtain employment in such areas as accounting, finance, international business, human resources or personnel management, marketing, journalism and public relations, government and teaching. Professional Recognition If students wish to be eligible for membership of a professional body they will need to select units endorsed by that body.
