Our Certificate of Higher Education Theatre Arts provides a foundation in acting, as well as an understanding of theatre and film history. You undertake a highly focused exploration of acting techniques, along with movement, dance, music and improvisation. Our programme lasts for one year and some successful students may be offered a place on one of our full-time courses, like BA Acting, or accepted at another drama school or university. It is suitable for those on a gap year programme, for overseas students seeking an introduction to theatre and for UK students wishing to enter full-time theatre training.

Students who successfully complete our one-year Certificate of Higher Education Theatre Arts tend to go on to one of our BA acting courses , although one or two use the qualification to apply to other drama schools or universities. Over the last few years our recent graduates have performed at the RSC, BBC, Royal National Theatre, Birmingham Rep, The Royal Court and The Old Vic, as well as touring productions, television programmes and feature films.
