With an ever increasing regulatory framework in which business managers must operate within the confines of the law the opportunity for business managers to develop their knowledge in business law opens the door to a host of careers and sets a graduate with a Business Management and Law degree apart from graduates with a simple business management degree. The commercial area of law in particular is very important to business management students who are drawn to the dynamic environment and high earning potentials offered by careers in the business/law intersection. The course will combine a study of the core foundations of business including marketing, accounting, business communications and management as well as human resource management, entrepreneurship and leadership as well as fundamentals of business law such as Contract Law, the Law of Tort and Intellectual Property Rights. Later in your studies with the dissertation you may wish to explore topics that straddle both disciplines such as social media and intellectual property rights, human resource management and contract law or other topics of preference.
