This specialist course takes a holistic view of engineering systems, and will enable you to become a knowledgeable and effective manager in a knowledge-based global economy. Our approach to teaching and learning is multi-disciplinary and international, and will help you to develop critical thinking and creativity in analysis, synthesis and appraisal. Covering critical areas such as operations management, risk and quality management and strategic technology management, you will also study a range of people management techniques.

Throughout the course, you will have the opportunity to enhance your communication and negotiation skills by working in groups, managing group projects, giving presentations, writing reports, debating and shaping decisions, with formative and summative feedback provided to enable you to develop communication effectiveness. You will work on complex case studies with your fellow students and will be asked to solve business problems and issues, make decisions and anticipate future challenges. You will also have the opportunities to visit local companies, to see inside manufacturing and to meet the employers.
