BSc (Hons) approved by the Health and Care Professions Council, endorsed by College of Paramedics Department of Applied Health and Professional Development The BSc (Hons) Paramedic Science (pre-registration) is approved by the Health and Care Professions Council and endorsed by the College of Paramedics. Paramedics are registered Allied Health Professionals who provide unscheduled care to patients who have an urgent or emergency healthcare need in the out of hospital environment. Unlikely many other healthcare professionals they assess and manage patients across the lifespan and with almost any injury or illness. There are many possible career opportunities for paramedics who work in a variety of settings both clinical healthcare, education and research. 2016 entry students studying the BSc (Hons) Paramedic Science degree have their tuition fees funded by Health Education Thames Valley. There is an active Brookes Union Student Paramedic Society to enhance your learning and experience at Oxford Brookes University.

The skills and knowledge gained on this programme are directly relevant to a number of careers in animal management. Many of our graduates will find employment with animal welfare establishments, zoological collections, wildlife organisations, conservation management or animal production facilities. Previous students have gained employment in the areas of the animal industries outlined, and some have progressed to self-employment or been employed as research technicians. An Applied Animal Management degree also offers an excellent general university education and can provide a gateway to careers in management, journalism and the media and leisure industry.
