Crop and Pasture Science is a dynamic course designed to meet the growing demand for graduates with training and expertise in food production systems. It addresses the increasing global concern around food security and gives you a deep understanding of how to feed a growing population, with a particular focus on new and emerging technologies and how to add value to existing production. Developed by Murdoch’s industry leading research scientists and academics, in conjunction with industry, this degree has a strong industry focus with a farming systems perspective for growing plants for food, forage and pasture production. You will explore crop production systems, soils and hydrology, biochemistry, nutrition and toxicology and plant pathology. Additional units examine the importance of agricultural trade and markets in the value chain, from paddock to plate. This innovative degree brings together our world-class research expertise in this field, with well-established industry links and leading academic programs.
