This programme is offered as a final year top-up programme. By combining two key subject areas, IT and Business Information Systems, the programme has been designed to meet the requirements of students whose intended careers require knowledge and skills from more than one field of study. It is aimed at those students who have strong interests in information technology but who also wish to acquire knowledge in the application of IT in business. The course aims to instil an ethos of independent learning and continuous professional development in its graduates. Graduates of the programme will be equipped with an employable skill set that will include technical computing skills, business-oriented knowledge and awareness, the ability to communicate effectively in a range of settings to different stakeholders, the ability to participate in and manage projects, and the ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams. Equipped with this hybrid skill set, students will be able to pursue a number of different career pathways in a promising field of industry where business operations merge with information technologies.
