Course Description

If you are already working, or you intend to work, in sport, exercise, recreation, we will provide you with the opportunity to upgrade your professional expertise. You will study the traditional areas of exercise physiology, psychology, biomechanics and sport and exercise nutrition, and at the end of your course you will complete a major independent study related to your specific interests in sport and exercise science. You can also choose an option module which allows a more detailed consideration of the contributions of biomechanics, exercise physiology, physiology, psychology and nutrition to the study of sport and exercise. During your course you will have the opportunity to apply for a range of professional development opportunities. Placements with Leeds Rugby and SportAid, as well as discipline-specific projects working with academic staff in the Carnegie Faculty are just a few examples of where past opportunities have taken place.
