We are all exposed to different forms of media every day of our lives. We will give you the skills to spark your pupils' interest in this thought-provoking subject by delivering exciting and inspiring lessons about all aspects of the media, from print to TV. We will broaden your understanding of how pupils of differing abilities learn, enabling you to plan activities that will ensure all your students benefit from your lessons and are highly motivated to learn about all aspects of the media. For example, you will learn how to plan a stimulating lesson about adverts and how pupils can deconstruct them to identify dominant messages. We will develop you as a teacher, giving you the skills and confidence to find creative ways to translate your knowledge into a language pupils can easily understand. A key element of your training will be the hands-on experience you acquire in the classroom, giving you the opportunity to grow your confidence, teaching ability and knowledge base while trialling different teaching methods so you can formulate your own style.
