Course Description

Specialising in microbiology/molecular biology you will look at infectious diseases in the human body and the molecular methods of diagnosing them. By studying the topic of infectious diseases as a major cause of death globally, you will develop your knowledge of microbial strategies used in infection. On completion of our Human Physiology & Genetics module, you will be able to discuss the central role of the genetic material in living systems, describe the Mendelian and non-Mendelian inheritance mechanisms and outline the distribution of genes in human populations.
