If you're interested in medical research, community health, rehabilitation counselling, environmental health or health promotion - or even if you are not quite sure which health science area is for you - this three-year degree can help you find your area of interest. Learn about human biosciences, as well as the roles of health professionals and the factors that influence health. You'll gain an understanding of health and disability as well as ways to improve health across the community. You'll choose a major in second year, enabling you to focus your studies. Study health sustainability at the Bendigo campus, with subjects including applied health research, the principles of public health practice, environmental health issues and the development of health education. A public health major is available at Melbourne. Your studies will include community health promotion and living with chronic conditions. You can also major in human physiology and anatomy or rehabilitation counselling, with subjects covering work and health, sports and exercise psychology and behaviour change for rehabilitation.
