Master of Laws in Global Business Law

Course Description

Explore key issues and challenges in commercial law and practice in areas of global interest. Leading academics and commercial practitioners will help you to build on your knowledge and skills in an existing area of interest or specialisation, such as Asian or US law, or move into an international business environment for the first time. Subjects are usually delivered in block mode over five days during the winter and summer semesters. Some subjects may be offered during Semesters 1 and 2. These subjects are recognised by other Australian law schools, and cross-institutional study is welcome. In any semester, a minor thesis of 12 000 words equivalent to two subjects may be undertaken subject to approval. All subjects offered are capable of being credited to other LLM programs in Australia. The Law School may offer 60 credit points of Advanced Standing (credit) to those who hold a TEQSA level eight qualification or international equivalent and/or who have been admitted to practice as a barrister or solicitor in Australia or equivalent in their home jurisdiction. The program can then be completed in 12 months with 120 credit points. Advanced Standing applications will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis.
