The BA Accounting and Finance (UCAS course code N42K) degree seeks to provide a foundation for lifelong learning with a strong emphasis on the development of appropriate knowledge, skills and professional values essential to the exercise of an accounting and finance specialism, whether in industry or public practice. The course has been designed to provide a thorough grounding in financial reporting, management accounting and corporate finance. It aims to develop technically competent, broad based individuals who think and communicate effectively and who have the basis for conducting inquiry, carrying out problem solving and undertaking critical analysis in a constantly changing business context. This course was previously taught at our sister institution, Kaplan Business and Law School.

Career prospects & further study This degree can be used as a platform into a wide range of careers, including: accounting, banking, finance, financial management, insurance, management. On completion of the course, some students may decide to progress on to study a professional qualification in accountancy, the Chartered Financial Analyst Program (CFA Program), a Masters in Finance or an MBA. Employability Almost three-quarters of UWE Bristol Business School undergraduates from the UK who studied on full-time and sandwich courses went on to secure graduate level employment in 2010.
