The aim of the programme is to prepare innovative graduates to work with high competence, using specialised skills and deep knowledge, as producers, managers and users of geospatial information, at the forefront of developments in domains where geospatial information plays a significant role and in related disciplines. This is a conversion programme to enable graduates of a related discipline to acquire a qualification in GeoSpatial Engineering at Postgraduate Diploma and Masters Level. The programme is presented within the Spatial Information Sciences in the new School of Surveying and Construction Management in DIT Bolton Street. A maximum intake of 20 students is planned from different disciplines and backgrounds.

The MSc in Geospatial Engineering is a unique NFQ level 9 course in Ireland, it underpins the needs of a wide range of disciplines in the Built Environment and Engineering where the accuracy and connectivity of spatial data is key to survey related workflows. It is expected that graduates of the programme will find employment in a wide range of disciplines involved in the acquisition, manipulation and management of geospatial data.
