Science is the process of understanding the world around us and underpins many of the major industrial sectors and employers in Ireland, for example, Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, Healthcare, Agri-Food and the Green Economy. A recent review of employment opportunities in Ireland by Forfas identified that Science will be at the core of the Future Skills Needs and economic recovery in Ireland. This General Science Programme is ideal if you are not yet sure which Science discipline you wish to pursue and you are looking for a broad education in first year that will allow the maximum possible choice in future years.

Graduates of this programme are qualified to gain employment in many diverse fields of Biological Science as technicians/technologists in Biomedical, Biopharmaceutical and Biotechnology industries. Graduates also avail of career opportunities in State or third level Research Laboratories.
