On completion of the Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) you will be a well-rounded graduate that is qualified for professional registration as a teacher throughout Australia. A unique feature of this course is the opportunity for you to gain a nationally recognised Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care within your first one - two years of the course. This will allow you to work as a qualified early learning professional in childcare centres throughout the remainder of your studies. In addition to building the skills required to teach effectively in a wide range of contemporary educational settings, this course prepares future teachers who have the disposition for engaging in, and contributing to, the teaching profession through a commitment to ongoing professional learning. During your studies you will undertake 125 days of planned teaching practice in schools and other learning sites and have many opportunities to apply theoretical knowledge in practical ways. The course's structure also allows for recognition of prior learning through entry into the second year of the degree course if you already hold a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (CHC50113) qualification.
