The Bachelor of Science (Honours) is a multidisciplinary course that allows you the opportunity to continue undergraduate studies at a higher level by pursuing an independent research project in an area of interest. Projects are completed under the supervision of an academic member of staff and allow you the opportunity to develop new skills, generate new information and/or distil new ideas out of existing knowledge, whilst specialising in your chosen field. An honours degree enhances the professional skills that you have acquired in your primary undergraduate degree by allowing you to study more rigorously the links between the theoretical bases and practice. Completion of an honours degree also provides you with a pathway to further studies, leading to Masters by Research and Doctor of Philosophy courses. To enter the course you must hold a Bachelor’s degree obtained from CQUniversity, or another tertiary education institution. Students who have recently enrolled in the Bachelor of Science (Honours) course have completed a degree in one of the following fields: Agricultural science Analytical science Chemical science Environmental science Exercise and sport science Medical science Paramedic science Other related science disciplines Upon completion of this course you will have a more in-depth understanding of your chosen area of research, more advanced skill sets, and a demonstrated ability to work without close supervision; attributes which increase your employability.
