This course is only open to medical students in the UK who have passed their first three years of medical school (intermediate). It is not a ‘top-up’ course. By undertaking this degree, you will integrate with students on the final year of the ‘BSc (Hons) Sport and Exercise Science’ degree and have the opportunity to work in the challenging sports and exercise environment, within first class sports science laboratories and sports facilities.

Upon successful completion of their medical degree, successful graduates from this course could work in sport and exercise medicine, for example with elite athletes, national teams and squads or be involved in health promotion activities within a local authority or health care trust. Graduates will also be in an ideal position to undertake the ‘MSc Sport & Exercise Medicine’ degree at the Cardiff School of Sport or to register on the recently approved Certificate for Completion of Specialist Training (CCST) in Sport and Exercise Medicine.
