3 years full-time; 4-years thick-sandwich This new course equips you with the essential knowledge and skills to design modern day conventional and renewable energy plants and components – and to understand their environmental and economic impact. The programme focuses on the aspects of mechanical engineering principles that underlie how energy is generated, supplied and used – through engineering design, complex fluid flow and heat transfer, and the operation of energy technologies and systems including renewables. The course offers professional development and valuable work placement opportunities with leading energy companies, with a major individual project required in your final year.
