Course Description

This one-year Ontario College Certificate program is intended for students who are interested in exploring a career in design through the preparation of a competitive portfolio. Students develop their creative design and drawing skills allowing them to pursue more advanced studies in related programs including but not limited to Graphic Design, Interior Decorating, Bachelor of Applied This one-year Ontario College Certificate program is intended for students who are interested in exploring a career in design through the preparation of a competitive portfolio. Students develop their creative design and drawing skills allowing them to pursue more advanced studies in related programs including but not limited to Graphic Design, Interior Decorating, Bachelor of Applied Arts (BAA) - Interior Design, Advertising and Architectural Technician/Technology. Graduates of the one-year program are eligible to receive an Ontario College Certificate in General Arts and Science - One Year, with concentration in Design Studies. Graduates can apply to another program at the College or continue their studies in Year II of the General Arts and Science Ontario College Diploma program. Some credits may be considered as transfer credits towards other college programs. Two-Year Diploma Program The two-year Ontario College Diploma program begins in September (for graduates of the one-year certificate program) and in January. Year II provides a well-balanced selection of courses in the social sciences and humanities. On successful completion of Year II, students receive an Ontario College Diploma. Graduates of the diploma program may be eligible to transfer some credits towards a university degree. SUCCESS FACTORS This program is well-suited for students who: Think visually and creatively. Have good communication skills. Work well under pressure and meet deadlines. Are effective team members.Arts (BBA)-Interior Design, Advertising, Architectural Technician/Technology and Game Development.
