Algonquin College’s Architectural Technician – Weekend program is a two-year Technician program that runs only on the weekends, designed for students who have other priorities during the work-week. Small classes and an intensive in-class component allow students to study to become an Architectural Technician while still being able to work. Classes typically run from 6pm – 9pm on Friday evening, and Saturday and Sunday classes are from 9am – 5pm at our Ottawa campus. In the Architectural Technician program students study document preparation, working drawings, construction methods and materials, building sciences, and computer-assisted design and drafting. Through a mixture of practical labs and theory, students learn to use different design software and preparation tools.
