The aim of this programme is to prepare students with the knowledge and practical skills for employment and apprenticeships in the electrical trade. By providing additional skills, a student who successfully completes all components of this programme is a much more attractive employment prospect to an employer. Upon successful completion of the programme, graduates gain the National Certificate in Electrical Engineering (Level 2), and as well as a higher level of practical wiring skills (level 3 units to the value of 45 credits).diately useful in employment. Semester 1 Class times are Monday - Wednesday 8am – 4pm Semester 2 Class times are Tuesday - Thursday 8am - 4pm Programme Outline In this programme you will learn about: *Safe work practice for electricians *Career opportunities within the electro technology industry now and in the future *Practical hand skills. You will learn tricks of the trade in workshops. You will discover best practice for the use of hand tools, power tools and test instruments *What employers' expectations are, by participating in practical team exercises *Modern electrical practice by completing practical projects in the workshop *Electrical theory *The products and equipment of the trade *Electrical appliances *Basic introduction to electronics 12v, 230v, 415v and control circuit wiring *An introduction to industry regulations and quality control measures *Maths for the trades *Communication and being part of a team
