ACAP’s Graduate Diploma of Psychological Science is a one-year qualification for students who have an undergraduate degree in another area of study and have completed accredited first year psychology units. This course provides a comprehensive foundation for understanding the theoretical basis of the scientific discipline of psychology, for developing critical and analytical thinking skills, for understanding the underpinnings of the professional applications of psychology and for developing capabilities to design, conduct and evaluate psychological research. This course is conditionally accredited by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC), the body that set the standards for psychology education in Australia.

Psychology graduates build careers in areas where knowledge of psychology and well‑developed research and writing skills are valued, such as health and social welfare, social policy and research, market research, human services, disability and ageing, mental health services, juvenile justice, immigration and refugee support services.
