Course Description

Civil engineers are often described as the caretakers of society’s infrastructure. They are involved in the conception, planning, design construction and operation of facilities that contribute to a high quality of life and a sustainable environment. Civil engineers are problem solvers who apply technology to create the major infrastructure components of communities, including transportation systems, structures, water supply and treatment systems, bridges and tunnels, and other public works. Civil engineers find career opportunities throughout both private and public sectors. Virtually every major industry employs civil engineers in a variety of roles. A civil engineering education can also be an excellent preparation for advanced student in business administration, law and public policy.
