The agricultural and applied economics program provides an excellent path to merge interests in agriculture, business, financial planning, community development, international development, and the environment. Course work prepares students to make financial, marketing, management, and policy decisions. Degree options include agribusiness management, environmental economics and management, financial planning, international trade and development, community economic development, and veterinary business management. This program also can serve as a foundation for law or veterinary medicine. Curriculum flexibility allows students to design a program based on individual interests. Course work stresses hands-on applications. Students are provided opportunities to apply knowledge and concepts outside the classroom, conduct independent research, and participate in professional student competitions.
