Course Description

Economics is a social science that focuses on the study of the production, distribution and consumption of goods and services. The Economics program is designed to provide a grounding in the fundamentals of economics and to introduce students to modern economic issues and problems. The defining feature of the Economics Program are core courses in microeconomic theory, macroeconomic theory and statistics. Honours students are also required to complete courses in mathematical economics, econometrics and advanced theory.The Economics program is available as "A" major, traditional major, honours or minor options as part of a four-year Bachelor of Arts degree. Arts is a four-year degree and covers a broad range of subject areas concerned with the study of human beings and the evolution and nature of global societies, ideas, and institutions. In your first two years of Arts, you will select courses in fields like humanities, languages, social sciences as well as science and business to provide you with a broad foundation for advanced study in your chosen subject area during the final two years.
